The perfect addition to any lamp or small appliance such as fans and radios, this beautiful fabric covered electrical wire is a great way to replicate that vintage industrial age charm.

This is BRAND NEW reproduction antique style 2-wire, 16 gauge (known as 16/2). Each wire is a stranded copper insulated wire (much like standard wiring of today) then covered in a braided cotton fabric. The fabric is soft and deep in color, similar to old industrial age cloth covered wiring. Two colors are utilized to create this eye catching chevron pattern, each wire braided individually then twisted together.

    good product for vintage restoration

Posted by Unknown on Dec 11th 2020

came as ordered with the exception of there is no yellow tracer to e found

REPLY: Hello, the tracer should be there, it is very subtle (and only on one wire), but it is there and visible if you are looking for it. As seen in the pictures the colors (putty cord, yellow tracer) are very close in tone so it is meant to be a subtle feature.

Love this twisted 16 gauge wire

This is my favorite twisted cord, although difficult to work with because of the gauge, it is sturdy, and not afraid of looking so. It is about as neutral as you can get. I also like the antique gold with grey tracer in the 18 gauge. I will check out the blogs as you suggested.

    Nice tone of brown

I wrote a review of one of other colors in this 16 gauge twisted wire. Same goes for this one. I do like the soft tones of the cotton cover wire, and the Putty is especially neutral.

    Sturdy stuff!

Very much like the quality of this twisted wire, and the hefty weight. Very well made. It is by nature a struggle to work with when wiring standard sockets.
However, worth the trouble I think.

Reply: Thanks Maryann! This being a 16 gauge cord does make it a little harder than the regular size (18 gauge), we do also have some tips in our blog if you haven't checked that out yet! https://www.snakeheadvintage.com/blog/
